Anthony Henry Hossack
- Marriage: Theodora "Dora" Moody on 1 Aug 1894 in Chigwell Row, Essex, England
General Notes:
Listed as a Solicitor on the Marriage Certificate but listed as a Rev. elsewhere
Sadly, despite Anthony Hossack being a great sportsman and even played football for England once, he was a bad lot and was sent away to the Gold Coast to 'make good', though he apparently didn't. I know that at the start of the WW1 some of the Hossack family were working on the violet farms in Devon, having fallen on hard times.Anthony, the eldest son joined up at the start of the war, and when old eough, Theodora (Babs) became a nurse, and Margaret went into the Royal Flying Corps. The youngest son John was much younger -probabaly came after the Gold Coast episode, was still a young child. I know very little of what became of the father Hossack, but believe he separated from Theodora, and went to live with another woman until his death some time in the 1920s!! He was never spoken of!
Anthony married Theodora "Dora" Moody, daughter of Richard Mullins Moody and Ellen Gray, on 1 Aug 1894 in Chigwell Row, Essex, England. (Theodora "Dora" Moody was born <1873> in New Cross, Kent, England 1 and died on 3 Oct 1962 in 9 Sydney Place, Bath, England.)
